Education Section

The education section is responsible for the planning and implementation of all education projects in the state. The project includes of building new schools, erecting additional blocks and the subsequent infrastructures to existing schools, upgrading and improving through renovation works to outdated school blocks and other subsequent buildings, building new staff quarters and new office blocks for the State Education Departments. Deteoriated utilities are also replaced with new and better facilities to accomodate conveniences and confort for the students and teachers. Other obligations are to plan and practice periodical maintenance works on schools, quarters etc. as requested or otherwise, giving advices to the State Education Department on matters that requires technical expertise.

In the 6th Malaysia Plan ( 1990- 1995 ) a total of 178 projects were given to JKR Negeri Sembilan Darul Khusus with a total cost of RM 200 million, of which 172 projects were successfully completed and delivered at the end of the 5-year plan. Six (6) remaining schools were brought forward into the 7th Malaysia Plan ( 1996 - 2000 ). Two of the schools were completed in Jun 1997 while the other four projects are still under construction but at rapid progress and are expected to be completed in Jun 1998.

For the 7th Malaysia Plan, more than 150 projects with a total cost amounting to almost RM 320 million were given to this section when it was launched in mid 1996. Thirty (30) projects had been tendered out since, of which twelve (12) projects are now in comfortable construction progress. According to programme all the projects will be tendered out before the first quarter of 1999 and these projects are expected to be completed and delivered at the end of the year 2000.
