INTELLIGENCE SIGN BOARD

  • High Frequency of damage of JKR Sign boards,which had to be fixed near to the road pavement due to lack of road reserve, geographical constraints such as slope, embankment and sight distance, being knocked and spoilt by vehicles, poses a huge challenge to District JKR maintenance teams, not only in the repetitive maintenance job but also a tremendous increase in costs. 
  • Intelligence Sign Boad was the brainchild idea and innovation of the QCC group 'Bahtera'JKR District Tampin, Negeri Sembilan which is designed in such a way as to overcome the most probable causes like the traditional sign board with two posts being too stiff, sign board being fixed near to the pavement andalso the modern long vehicles.
  • The Intelligence Sign Board is more flexible in design. When it is being knocked by a vehicle, the sign board shall absorb the impact force and rotate in the direction of the impact. After the impact the sign board will rotate in the reverse direction and back to the original position without any damage with a help of a mechanism which was invented by the QCC group called 'RECOVER HINGE'. 
  • The Intelligent Sign Board had gone through the stringent impact test by the group with the departmental truck. The result of the impact test was amazing as compared to the same test with the traditional sign board. 
  • After the impact, the Intelligence Sign Board experience no damage, but for the traditional sign board, the plate and post were bent and damaged. The Intelligence Sign Board will solve the problem of high maintainance cost for sign boards to be fixed near to the road pavent due to the above mentioned constraints.
