‘CERTIFIED LOW CARBON COMPUTING FACILITY’ AWARD, PLATINUM LEVEL FOR GREEN DATA CENTER JKR.
JKR today was awarded the 'Certified Low Carbon Computing Facility' Platinum level for green data center JKR. The award will be presented by Mr. Matthew Rajendra, Regional Director of Green Computing Initiative (GCI) in JKR Special Achievement Award Ceremony 2015 was held at the Tan Sri Mahfoz, KKR.
For information, certification of 'Certified Low Carbon Computing Facility' international standard is designed to confirm that an organization has implemented best practices in ICT infrastructure, green technology. Award recipients must carry out the commitment to reduce the 'Carbon Footprint' ICT infrastructure and energy consumption significantly in a specified time period.
In this context, the JKR has managed to reduce the 'Carbon Footprint' Department Data Centre by 50% and reduce energy consumption by 50% compared with other similar data center in terms of size and capacity, based on the audit conducted by the GCI began on 8 September up 22 September 2015 ago.
This is a major achievement and an important contribution to the commitment of the Prime Minister and the Federal Government for green technology initiatives and reductions 'Carbon Footprint' in Malaysia. Well done and thanks to all those involved directly or indirectly with this recognition.
