The Autodesk-JKR ASEAN Innovation & BIM Awards 2023 Ceremony, jointly organized by Autodesk and the Malaysian Public Works Department (JKR), was successfully held on October 25, 2023, at the Sime Darby Convention Centre in Kuala Lumpur. This event, attended by approximately 250 industry professionals and JKR officials, was inaugurated by YB Dato Sri Alexander Nanta Linggi, the Minister of Works.

The final evaluation for the JKR BIM Awards 2023 was held on October 24, 2023, at the Public Works Department (JKR) Malaysia Headquarters, Menara Kerja Raya, to determine the winners who will receive awards during the JKR BIM Day 2023 scheduled for October 25, 2023. Introduced in 2021, these awards are one of the department's initiatives to recognize the expertise, knowledge, and skills of JKR officials, industry players, and academic members in the field of Building Information Modelling (BIM).

The JKR BIM Day program, jointly organized by the Integrated Asset Planning Branch (CPAB) and the Pertubuhan BIM Malaysia, was successfully held on October 25, 2023, at the Sime Darby Convention Centre in Kuala Lumpur. The event, inaugurated by the Director-General of Public Works, YBhg. Datuk Ir Ahmad Redza bin Ghulam Rasool, received an enthusiastic response and successfully attracted the participation of approximately 700 attendees, including JKR officials, government agencies, industry players, and academic members.

18-19 October 2023 - The Precast Structure and Pile Foundation Structure Design Workshop together with the JKR State Design Team took place successfully on 18 - 19 October 2023 at the Perdana Hotel Kota Bharu, Kelantan. The workshop which lasted for two (2) days was launched by YBhg. Ir. Noreha Binti Nordin, Senior Director of Civil & Structural Engineering Branch (CKAS), JKR Malaysia headquarters.

The Letter of Acceptance (SST) Handover Ceremony took place on October 17, 2023 (Tuesday) and was officiated by YBrs. Ir. Shukri bin Ishak, Director of Cawangan Kerja Kesihatan located in Block G, Menara Kerja Raya Malaysia Headquarters. The ceremony was also attended by the Director of JKR Kelantan, Ir. Mohd Suhaili Bin Ismail and the Chief Assistant Secretary, Development Division, Mohd Saiful Bin Mohd Zain representing the Ministry of Health Malaysia.

On October 17, 2023 (Tuesday), Cawangan Kejuruteraan Elektrik (CKE) successfully handed over a project for Cadangan Pemasangan Solar Hibrid di Sekolah-sekolah Luar Bandar Negeri Sarawak Pakej 3, 4, 7, and 9 involving seven (7) districts in Sarawak. Up until now, 43 schools in the rural area of Sarawak have been equipped with solar hybrid systems; this includes schools in Package 8 that have been handed over previously.

The 27th World Road Congress took place in Prague, Czech Republic from October 2-6, 2023. The congress was organized by the World Road Association (PIARC) and Czech Road Society. It is an Olympic to road engineering event with the attendance of 3500 participants from 115 countries with 500 papers were presented during the congress session. Malaysia through JKR is a member country since 1989 had also participated the congress that held for every 4 years’ time. JKR Malaysia were represented by the Director General of Public Works, YBhg.
