THE PRECAST STRUCTURE AND PILE FOUNDATION STRUCTURE DESIGN WORKSHOP TOGETHER WITH THE JKR STATE DESIGN TEAM

18-19 October 2023 - The Precast Structure and Pile Foundation Structure Design Workshop together with the JKR State Design Team took place successfully on 18 - 19 October 2023 at the Perdana Hotel Kota Bharu, Kelantan. The workshop which lasted for two (2) days was launched by YBhg. Ir. Noreha Binti Nordin, Senior Director of Civil & Structural Engineering Branch (CKAS), JKR Malaysia headquarters.

This inaugural event was jointly organized by CKAS and the Geotechnical Engineering Branch (CKG). This program was attended by 36 participants consisting of the Design Team from CKAS and the JKR State Design Team.

This workshop has been realized as a knowledge sharing medium delivered by the Design Team from CKAS. This workshop focused on the Design of Precast Concrete Buildings in line with the concept of sustainable buildings in the Industry 4.0 revolution (IR 4.0) and also the government policy which has mandated that development projects of cost over RM10 million must be implemented by using IBS. The workshop also features a sharing titled Foundation Recommendations and Design of Shallow Foundations and Piles which was presented by the Design Team from the Geotechnical Engineering Branch (CKG).

It is the Aspiration of JKR's top management that the JKR State Design Team can independently and perform tasks efficiently in line with the increasingly challenging workload in implementing development projects, especially projects in RMK 12 in accordance with Circular Instruction 182 (AP 182) by the Ministry of Finance (MOF).

The responsibilities and commitments of all designers is highly expected so that the expertise can be developed towards achieving competence, professionalism, and gaining recognition at the national and international level in line with JKR's aspiration to provide the best technical service to the people.

Hopefully the implementation of knowledge sharing in this 2 days’ workshop can further increase knowledge and competence, especially in the Design of Precast Concrete Structures and the Design of Shallow Foundations and Piles for all JKR Design Team.
