CORPORATE SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY (CSR) PROGRAM FOR OCCUPATIONAL SAFETY AND HEALTH (OSH) JKR MALAYSIA COLLABORATION WITH THE SELANGOR ISLAMIC RELIGIOUS DEPARTMENT (JAIS)

JKR Malaysia under the Quality Management Division, CDPK, has taken the initiative to implement the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program for Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) called "JKR Malaysia Together with the Community" from April to October 2023. The CSR OSH program involves 1 community mosque, 1 district mosque, 1 state mosque, and 1 boarding high school.

The OSH CSR program involving school management began during the launch ceremony of the OSH CSR program in collaboration with the Selangor Islamic Religious Department (JAIS), held on October 6, 2023, at Sekolah Agama Menengah Bestari, Subang Jaya. The event was officiated by the Director of CDPK, YBhg. Dato' Ir. Ts. Masri bin Baharuddin, and the Deputy Director of JAIS Management, YBrs. Tuan Mohd Faizal Bin Abdul Raji. The event was also attended by representatives from JKR Selangor, JKR Petaling District, officers from the Islamic Education Division of JAIS, principals, and administrators of schools and religious schools under JAIS management.

The objective of the program is to share technical expertise and JKR's experience in compliance with the Occupational Safety and Health Act 1994 (OSHA 1994) with selected premises throughout Malaysia, such as mosques and schools, to reduce the risk of accidents and make these premises safe and healthy. The program is implemented in 2 stages, involving inspections of OSH aspects at these premises in the first stage, assisted by CKE JKR Selangor, CKM JKR Selangor, and JKR Petaling District. This is followed by briefings and expertise sharing related to OSH and improvement suggestions in the second stage by YBrs. Lt. Kol. Bersekutu (PA) Ir. Haji Abdul Rani bin Harun and the OSH management system in schools by Puan Ai'nun Bashirah Binti Hamid.

During the program's inauguration speech, the Director of CDPK, YBhg. Dato' Ir. Ts. Masri bin Baharuddin, also shared the news of JKR Malaysia's victory in the National Occupational Safety and Health Awards 2022 in the Public Service and Statutory Bodies category, the highest prestigious award at the national level. This recognition demonstrates JKR Malaysia's high commitment to showcasing excellent performance in implementing the Occupational Safety and Health Management System at the workplace. The award presentation ceremony is scheduled for October 25, 2023.
