KUALA SELANGOR DISTRICT SCHOOLS PETANQUE TOURNAMENT

The Kuala Selangor District Schools Petanque Tournament was held on September 23, 2023 at the Petanque Arena, Kuala Selangor Municipal Council, a collaboration between the Jawatankuasa Aktiviti Sukan Hari Profesion Teknikal Negara (HPTN) 2023 Cawangan Kerja Kesihatan (CKK) and Kuala Selangor District Petanque Association, Kuala Selangor Municipal Council (MPKS) and Kuala Selangor District Education Office (PPD).

The tournament was officiated by the Director of Cawangan Dasar dan Pengurusan Korporat, Y.Bhg. Dato' Ir. Ts. Mr. Masri bin Baharuddin as Deputy Chairman of the Sambutan Hari Profesion Teknikal Negara Committee. This tournament was also attended by the Vice President of Kuala Selangor District Petanque Association, Ir. Shukri Bin Ishak, Program Manager 1 HPTN Steering Committee, Ir. Haji Ashlie Bin Haji Abdul Rahim, representative of the Kuala Selangor Municipal Council, Mr. Puspanath a/l Thanabalan and District Engineer JKR Kuala Selangor, Ir. Ts. Nur Hafidzan Bin Idris. Also present were members of the CKK HPTN Sports Activities Committee to help make this tournament a success and at the same time promote the HPTN 2023 celebration to tournament participants.

This tournament is an effort made by the Kuala Selangor District Petanque Association to develop school students' interest in the sport of petanque. This sport is seen as having the potential to be developed in all districts, many athletes who venture into this sport at the state, national and international levels. This kind of organization is one of the platforms in giving opportunities to students to highlight their respective talents.

The organization of the tournament, which was attended by a total of 141 students from 12 schools, is also one of the efforts to expand the celebration of the Hari Profesion Teknikal Negara, HPTN, which is a platform to appreciate the services of the technical profession for their great contribution to the progress of the nation's infrastructure and modernization which covers various technical fields including engineering, astronomy, science, technology, construction, architecture, surveying and so on.

Congratulations to all the winners and it is hoped that this victory can fuel the spirit to be more active in the field of sports. Hopefully with the involvement of this young generation we can continue the continuity of the technical profession in the country.
